Principal of Well-being, School Administration
Job summary
Responsible for leading the well-being approach to assist students in their academic, social, emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual growth. Responsible for the review, development, implementation and oversight of well-being programs, structures, policies and procedures across the school consistent with the school’s strategic plan, vision, mission and values.
This role involves:
- Developing leaders and teachers to understand the links between student well-being and growth and learning outcomes
- Cultivating safe physical, social, emotional, and online student practices
- Developing an integrated approach to teaching social and emotional literacy
- Monitoring and maintaining well-being resources
- Developing Student Leadership, Student Council, and service learning programs
- Liaising with staff to prepare students for assemblies and major events
- Reviewing and approving applications for student excursions
- Leading the development of co-curricular programs that promote student well-being
- Leading the behavior management and discipline frameworks
- Initiating and organizing parent programs
- Overseeing the annual child protection training and support the Child Protection processes
- Contributing to the planning and evaluation of playground spaces/zones
Qualifications and requirements
Has a Master’s Degree in Education with 4 year teaching experience. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research of learning. Demonstrates ability to work with sensitivity to unique and multicultural perspectives. Possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills. Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
