Director of Online Learning, Teaching and Learning

Job Summary

Is responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of online learning initiatives, championing the integration of digital resources, and continuous improvement of educational technology practices. Working closely with the Teaching & Learning Team, this role provides leadership in online learning initiatives for the district by creating, sharing, and communicating policies, resources, and best practices. Furthermore, this role is responsible for leading the LifePlus Online Academy, fostering a positive, caring learning environment that expands course catalogues, addresses staffing challenges, and promotes digital literacy with online course and program options. This role involves:

1. Develops and implements a comprehensive, multi-year strategy for digital learning that integrates transformational learning principles and leverages partnerships for growth.
2. Provides leadership to the Online Academy.
3. Drives the integration of educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
4. Foster collaboration with internal and external organizations and stakeholders to advance digital education initiatives.
5. Acts as an instructional leader, providing coaching, mentoring, and evaluation support to educators while promoting innovative teaching practices aligned with organizational goals.
6. Directs appropriate use of district-wide digital educational programs, platforms, and assessments.
7. Evaluates the effectiveness of district-wide digital programs, assessments, and practices through data analysis, feedback mechanisms, conducting observations, and providing timely feedback for continuous improvement.
8. Develops and delivers training programs and resources for educators on digital platforms, programs, assessments, and instructional technologies, promoting best practices and enhancing digital literacy.
9. Collaborates with organizational leaders and teams to align digital learning strategies with overall objectives, supporting the integration of innovative teaching and learning practices across the organization.
10. Serves as a key member of the Teaching and Learning Team in supporting the overall direction of continuous improvement for LifePlus Schools.
11. Carries out other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications and requirements

• Maintain a healthy and integrated lifestyle with high standards of professionalism.
• Has a strong understanding of, and passion for, LifePlus vision, mission, and strategy.
• Has a minimum of 5 years of experience in a teaching role and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
• A Master’s degree in a related field or in educational administration is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to plan and communicate strategically.
• Detail-oriented. Can synthesize information and turn it into practical steps.
• Proficiency in educational technology tools and platforms, including experience with a commitment to staying updated on new technologies
• Can influence, inspire, and motivate others.
• Can work collaboratively in a team.
